Experiencing Dementia – 1-Day Training Course (in person)

Since 2011 Re-Live have been delivering powerful, experiential training for anyone supporting people living with dementia, including health and social care professionals, volunteers, community connectors, and public health teams. Our training deepens understanding and equips participants to provide compassionate, person-centred support.

Who is this for?

This training is for anyone working alongside people living with dementia—whether in care settings, community spaces, or public health initiatives. It offers insight into the emotional and psychological experience of dementia and practical ways to respond with understanding and empathy.

What to Expect

This interactive, immersive training will:

  • Offer experiential exercises that bring the lived experience of dementia to life.

  • Invite participants to explore: What if it was me? How would I feel? What would I need?

  • Build understanding and empathy between people living with dementia, their families, and support networks.

  • Support participants in reflecting on challenging situations and developing compassionate responses.

Course Details

  • Time: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Numbers: up to 20 participants

  • Cost: Please get in touch. We would like to support you.

    • Includes: Two Re-Live facilitators, travel, insurance, and materials.

    • Excludes: Venue hire and accommodation for multi-day training.

Why Train with re-live?

Experiencing Dementia (Online Training)

Re-Live also deliver Experiencing Dementia as an online training course via Zoom aimed at health and social care professionals who want to gain knowledge and insight into the experience of a person living with dementia.

Learning Outcomes:

· Guide trainees through a series of live online experiential exercises which provide a powerful insight into the experience of dementia

· Invite trainees to engage with the emotional and psychological experience of dementia, exploring the questions "What if it was me living with dementia, how would I feel, what would I need?"

· Develop compassionate perspectives and a greater understanding between staff, people living with dementia and family members, especially during the challenges of Covid-19 restricitions.    

Re-Live will:

· provide a secure link with a unique password for each training course

· Provide an online space, including breakout rooms, for trainees to share practice and reflect on experiences

· refrain from recording training courses

· ensure a screen break half way through the training course
