About Re-Live

Re-Live is a life story arts organisation based in Wales, working alongside under-represented communities who wish to explore and express their lived experiences through the arts.

Through theatre, comics, and storytelling in community spaces, we co-create opportunities for people to share their stories with audiences.

We have had the privilege of working alongside people living with dementia, military veterans and their families, older adults, perinatal women, LGBTQ+ communities, and those at the end of life.

Our life story process invites people on a transformative journey and places their story centre stage. This process can be thrilling, cathartic and life-changing.

Each project ensures that people have control over the stories they want to share - with their families, their communities, and decision-makers.

Our work has reached audiences worldwide, from policymakers and researchers to students and the general public, sparking conversation and shifting attitudes. For audiences, witnessing these stories fosters understanding and compassion, breaking down barriers between those who provide care and those who receive it.

Re-Live's projects have informed government policy, helped shape more compassionate healthcare, and continue to challenge assumptions about ageing, mental health, and the armed forces community. Whether on stage, in a comic, or through song, supporting others to share their stories can change the way we see each other.

In 2023, Re-Live was awarded the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Civic Arts Award for its contribution to social change.

Our book, Creating Life Story Theatre (Methuen Drama, 2025), offers practical tools, case studies, and ethical insights for anyone interested in co-creating theatre or adapting life story work.
